Nature's Christmas lights

After the shenanigans with the spaniel over the last two days and nights  I've not been up to anything more than a quick potter around the garden in between showers of sleet which is when I saw this Great tit posed just beyond the holly hedge which created the foreground bokeh. 

Back to the vets in the afternoon. Poor Alfie hasn't improved at all and is now being kept at the vets overnight on a drip with a cocktail of medications. I'm not hopeful.
