A sad day

Thank you for all your best wishes yesterday. Unfortunately Alfie did not improve overnight and we made the decision to have him put to sleep. I've just been out in the rain digging a grave near his favourite spot in the orchard. He was the most wonderful of all the dogs I've had. Handsome and intelligent, he even seemed to have a sense of humour. Over the past 14 years we had great adventures together, walking miles and miles across the South Downs. I can't believe he's gone so suddenly.
