Underground passages
I think I've blipped here before, but the place always fascinates me. It's a small section of the passages once in use under William the Conqueror's castle/palace (call it what you will). The public can only see a very small section of them, but they are incredibly atmospheric.
The mound on which these - and The Great Hall - now stands was originally built up as a military camp by soldiers of the Emperor Vespasian's Roman army in the early AD 70s - talk about treading on history!
Not a lot else to say about today. I did go to the reserve this morning but didn't like the shots I came home with, so this was the afternoon's effort when I went into town to try and finish my Christmas shopping. Also failed with this last, so doing well!
Hope your day's been more successful than mine ;)) Have a great evening xx
