Evesham
We were up early to finish packing, and to tidy the house, not that we had made any mess. We left by 9am, drove into the village, had a last look around in the sunshine, picked up some pasties, and started our long journey home. We both agreed that two weeks in the cottage would have been good.
We made reasonably good progress to Exeter, which was much better than we expected, then it all went wrong, with a big delay on the M5. We left the motorway, and headed to Killerton Estate, a NT property, where we stopped for lunch and a wander.
We then hit the road again, with delays to Bristol, then it cleared. We were rather fed up, but kept going. Our destination was Evesham, where we had booked a Premier Inn. We checked in, then headed into Evesham for some food. We struggled to find somewhere, but ended up in an Indian restaurant where the food was fantastic. The service was also excellent. A good choice! We were both weary after spending so much time in the car, and we’re glad to get back to the hotel.
This is a 14th century building in the centre of Evesham which houses the Almonry Museum.
