Bad Hair Day?
:-)
On our way to London it was only a very few extra miles for Jamie to have a ride at today's RDA session near Oswestry. We had driven along some very wet roads, through the occasional heavy shower and seen rainbows on our way there but he mounted in sunshine, albeit cold sunshine, under a blue sky. It didn't last! A hailstorm moments after this pic was taken saw them move to the covered ring.
It's a well equipped equestrian centre that host this group, we enjoyed egg and chips in the cafe before continuing our journey. A brief stop at Ruth's, less miles going through Brum rather than round, then on to London. A lot of miles altogether but we arrived early evening which is much better than late.
After a cuppa and a chat with Louise, I went to the supermarket for a mix of basic supplies and Christmas food. 9pm turned out to be a surprisingly quiet time to shop, even just six days before Christmas Day and I came home with the bulk of the necessities for the Christmas dinner.
It is odd being in Mum's house, the house where I grew up, knowing that she's gone but I am now more aware that the vibrant, full of life Mum that I loved had not been here on my recent visits either. The frailty that overtook her this year had left her often just a shadow of the person she had been. It's still hard but maybe the difficulties have prepared us a little for what was to come.
