There Must Be Magic

Tree With a Heart of Gold / Butterfly Blessings

It was the third day in a row that we had plans. Tuesday morning was my husband's annual doctor appointment, early, plus multiple errands. Wednesday was a holiday family visit and a meal out, with our return trip home accomplished in pouring rain.

Thursday was a lunch date in town, with old friends; my husband would drop me off at an Italian restaurant on North Atherton and go jogging somewhere local. I got to try Marzoni's pepperoni brick oven pizza and it was pretty good.

It is always good to get together with friends, and these are ladies I've known for a very long time. We each brought a treat of some kind for the others: candy, cookies, Chex Mix, chocolate pretzels.

My own treat was apple crisp I'd made fresh that morning. I put a monarch butterfly sticker atop each container (see photo in the extras), and signed my cards: peace, love, and butterflies!

My husband picked me up after that, we did some bank business, and then we headed for home. He dropped me off at my favorite pond in the Barrens and I found the surface full of interesting shapes and patterns.

The shape in the photo above looked like a tree to me, with the orange leaves somehow stuck back on it, and its roots wrapped around a golden rock. The tree with a heart of gold!

I've got two photos so here are two songs. First, for the tree above and its heart of gold, I've got REO Speedwagon with Girl With the Heart of Gold. For the photo in the extras, with its butterfly blessings for my friends, I've got a song about friendship: here is Life in 3D, with Stand By Me.
