Oxshott Heath
It was another lovely sunny day, and for the second morning in a row there was a beautiful sunrise. Today felt quite cold but I wrapped up warmly and I enjoyed my walk with Xena in the sunshine, when I took this photo.
It has been a quiet day at home, just catching up with some chores and I also started selecting images for a photobook from our holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia. I use Cewe Photo books as they are, in my opinion, the best but they are expensive and never offer any discounts :(
So no rush to get it done, I will finish the book in the new year.
Today Adam had his viva voce for his PhD. He planned to finish his PhD at the beginning of the year but a PhD candidate is pretty much beholden to his PI (head of the research lab) so the timing was out of his control. Anyway, it will all be formalised now although he won't have time to attend a graduation ceremony before he moves to San Diego in January, so he will have to book a graduation date for later in the year and come back for it.
Tonight it's my friend's birthday dinner - we always celebrate at her house and it is a lovely Christmassy evening. Her birthday was earlier this month when we were away so I am grateful she is hosting the dinner later, and we are able to attend it.
Last night on the recommendation of Freespiral I did not watch The Listeners, which I was told was not good, but watched The Day of the Jackal instead - it is very good and I am enjoying watching it. Eddie Redmayne is such a versatile actor.
