Jon is leaving…

…not me, but his current job as Tree Officer for the Highways. Tonight he met with his colleagues for a Christmas meal, and they gave him a card. I can tell from the many heartfelt messages that he has been much valued in his job and will be missed. I am sure they will have a challenge to find anyone half as good.

So, anyway, for those who don’t know, from January he is taking a step into something less stressful and more ‘Jon’ - he will be the Area Ranger at Blickling, a big National Trust park in Aylsham. It is closer to home, although he still plans to use his motorbike, he will do less miles. I’m envious that he is going to do something I know he will enjoy. So once he is settled there, I’ll have to think again about what my plans are for the future. Maybe 2025 will deliver something new and exciting for me too!

I haven’t blipped for ages, but I am still writing my book. Just over 95,000 words and I MUST be getting near the end now!! It was supposed to be a 2024 project. That leaves me 10 days to finish it….so that’s Christmas sorted!

I will blip again at the end of the year but I’ll use this opportunity to say a very merry Christmas to fellow blipper, and any friends out there who may read this. I didn’t send as many cards this year, because basically I have had too many other things to think about this year. I’m sorry if you didn’t get one but you are still thought of.
