Quandary
Secondborn's flatmate has had Covid for three days. They have been isolating in their respective bedrooms and Secondborn tested negative this morning. So, does she come and stay with me and the rest of the family for Christmas or does she spend it alone in her bedroom? In the past I'd have said, 'just come' (I've always regarded infections as a good work-out for my immune system) but although I feel fine, I don't know how compromised my immune system now is. She can have a room to herself in my house but I have a ventilation system that moves the air round the house and its filters aren't hospital standard (that's the first time this downside to my ventilation system has occurred to me).
After much messaging with those of the family who are due here for Christmas, we made our decision, and by mid-day she was ensconced in my spare room/office, working from 'home', with a silk scarf optimistically wrapped around the ventilation outlet.
I was immensely pleased that over the last ten days I've set myself up an alternative space to work.
No boxfuls got chucked out today but I did put up two rails in the shower room.
