The calm before....

Grocery shopping done first thing this morning. I wanted to get there before it got too crowded. Combine 5 days before Christmas and one day before a winter storm and the stores get mobbed.
I met with a customer this morning about some work he wants done in the spring. Then went for a walk at Shubie. The squirrels were quiet, only a few of them around. The chickadees were even quieter, I heard a couple of them in the woods, but they didn't come out looking for food. 
Just after I got home, Marilyn called me and asked if I could pick up a bag of cat food that she had ordered, she didn't want to run out over Christmas. The vet office is normally about a 10 minute drive, with all the traffic this afternoon, it took me 25 minutes to get there, then another 25 minutes to get to Marilyn's. What should have been a 30 minute trip turned into an hour.
I just hope that the power doesn't go out tonight or tomorrow during the storm.
