Going up and back to the barn putting away stuff from the party I suddenly noticed this giant fungus on one of the native willows in the garden. I tried iNaturalist and brother Xtoph1 and everyone seemed to agree it was a type of oyster mushroom and therefore probably edible.  I decided against.   There’s never a forager around when you need one. 

We had a lunch of left over canapés which was actually a bit gross…you realise that they are foods designed to be eaten one at time with a drink rather than solemnly consumed with a knife and fork.  Mind you the sausage rolls were good. 

Walked up in the woods and cooked a good lamb shank tagine with tabbouleh for dinner 

And then, at the 11th hour we got the work call I’d been hoping for….can’t say exactly what but good news!  At 9pm on the last Friday before Xmas.  We had a glass of champagne before bed!
