A Friars Engagement

After yesterday's frankly rather niche effort (don't worry I'm sure there will some more along shortly!) I thought I should try and capture something maybe a little more picturesque for today's blip.
The day had actually started with my brother setting out on a short solo run as unfortunately the frozen veg applied to my sprained ankle yesterday had not had the desired effect and it had swollen up and was causing me quite a bit of pain.
Of course that didn't stop us venturing out for a pint, this time at The Angel in Addington, and we then took a short drive back to the village of Stansted to see of we could capture another aspect of it or the surrounding countryside but we were unsuccessful this time and decided to head back when the roads started to narrow a little too much for my liking.
On they way home we decided on another quick stop over at The Friars (our local Carmelite Priory) where we both managed to get our shots for the day whilst we walked, or in my case hobbled, around the grounds. My image is of a view across the duck pond towards one of the main chapels.
I never tire of engaging with such peaceful and serene surroundings and it can really help take your mind off your troubles - or in this particular instance my throbbing ankle!
When we got back we had a delicious bowl of my brother's homemade soup while I rested by troublesome joint.
