Day Of The Dead With Added Taurine And Mango
Today was a fairly quiet Sunday with our usual early morning run and a food shop followed by a now traditional pint at The Horseshoes in East Farleigh.
The rest of the day was spent catching up on household chores and doing some food prep - for a spicy spag bol for tonight's dinner and my brother making his legendary pea and ham soup for tomorrow so that we don't have to slave over a hot stove on a Monday evening (never one of our favourite tasks), as it can just be gently heated up when he gets in from work.
After the exercise, shopping, pub pit stop and food prep we did manage to spend the rest of the day relaxing, aided and abetted with a few glasses of wine, until I managed to persuade my somewhat reluctant brother out for a rather damp and dark early evening local photographic safari.
As we walked around our estate my attention was caught by this discarded drinks can, partially illuminated by the light of a nearby lamppost, with its Day Of The Dead illustrations - the vivid colours just seemed to leap out of the gloom.
