Drove over to Ju’s and she drove us to Welbeck for brunch in the cafe there. Garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast with poached eggs- delicious. Did some shopping in the farm shop and deli afterwards and had look around the gallery but didn’t buy anything. From there we went to Mr Straw’s House in Worksop. Its a National Trust property - a large Victorian semidetached house which was left to the NT on the death of the last owner in 1982, and which hadn't been touched( apart from necessary maintenance) since the death of his parents . It was very gloomy in parts, but still interesting to see the home of a middle class family in the 1920s. They were the town grocers and lived on the best road in the town.
The route home took us past Welbeck so we went back in for tea and a date slice!
