Darkest Day

Not just because it’s the Winter Solstice, but also after yesterday’s attack in Magdeburg.

I visited my mother today, and her Polish carer E had read that 11 people had already died and the attacker was a radical islamist. Typical information from “social” media, because nothing of it is true. The death toll is at five now (horribly enough), with over 200 people injured, some of them very critically.

The attacker, though originally from Saudi Arabia, had campaigned against Islam in his social media posts, sympathised with right wing groups and conspiracy theories, and might have suffered from paranoia. 

It’s a dark day, and we will never understand why someone does this kind of thing.
