Is this what they mean by "winding your neck in"?

A circuit of the park in between chores, admin and then a bit of binge-watching Dalgleish on TV, the more recent version (not Roy Marsden) with lots of dark brooding and taciturnity. I like it, but I need a bit of raucousness now to lighten the mood before I return to it.
