Happy Solstice!!

I decided to get up early (but later than if I'd had to get up for school) and head up to Pilot Hill to watch the sunrise. It was supposed to happen at 7:24 but I forgot that the Laramie Range would block it for a while. So I watched the light hit the Snowies far to the west and light them up pink and then travel across the valley towards me on Pilot Hill. It finally peeked over the range at about 7:45. There wasn't any wind but it was cold standing around. I haven't minded the dark. I've found it comforting but I'll be happy to see it get lighter.
It's been crazy warm today at about 60 degrees which is so wrong. There is no snow in sight but I'm hoping the new year will change that. The Snowies did receive about 10 inches the other day so I hope to get up there for some snow shoeing.
The Solstice party was cancelled tonight because Kelli got sick. She will reschedule for St. Brigid's day on Feb 1 as it's a cross quarter day.
I did go out for drinks with some high school friends so that was festive.
