Shepherd’s Delight
Sunday before Christmas. Icy and clear today, with a frosty winter sun and blue skies. In the evening, the clouds lit up for a brief display of sunset colour before everything turned grey and dark. I took this shot on an evening walk along Singledge Lane, returning to my regular walking routine for the new year. It is starting to feel very Christmassy at home with everyone off school and university—Milo and I still have to work, but I doubt much will be happening with the various mid-week bank holidays. I cooked a festive curry for supper and started planning when to prepare the multiple roasts for the next few days. I’ll most likely cook the gammon and a turkey on Christmas Eve, so we have the meat ready… and then the lamb and a duck on Christmas Day itself. We will have quite a houseful to feed, so I know better than to under-cater.
