West Bank Promenade, Widnes

Awake at 6am and aware that I needed to now go to the supermarket once last time to get something I'd forgotten about, I got up and headed out in the dark. Thankfully, it was a painless experience as the store we shop in is not a huge mega store, so wasn't busy at all. On the way back home I noticed that there was a bit of colour in the sky as the sun was coming up, so I dropped off my purchases and drove over to the river. It's a long time since I've been up in time for a sunrise and I was quite pleased to see the colour intensify into deep oranges and yellows. I walked along the promenade at West Bank and took a few pictures before the sun came up properly and went behind the inevitable clouds that will form the rest of the days weather.
