Owling

After a weekend of awful weather, I was hoping that the shorties might be feeling hungry enough to hunt a little earlier today. Had a fabulous 2.5 hours watching the antics of up to 5 birds at one point. Such a huge privilege. Still acclimatising to my Christmas hired 600mm lens and trying to figure out the focusing on my new camera - between single point and animal tracking seem sometimes to have a battle whereby the camera doesn't seem to be obeying any logical command. When it all came together though, moments like this were fab. A couple of extras - one of many Kestrel thefts of meals, the owls really do have a hard time of it. plus a fabulous owl in the sky too.
