Thursday in Seville
We had a long lie this morning, I think we deserved it after all the early mornings we’ve had since we came here. Didn’t wake up till after 8, the hotel is quite quiet and I asked for a high floor away from the lift . The room is right at the end of the corridor which is perfect.
First we got the circular bus just outside our hotel to take us to the Macarena district. The old city walls are here, a church with the most magnificent white roof with ornate paintings. We went for breakfast / lunch in a restaurant nearby which was delicious.
We walked back to Santa Croce (the old town) as we had a ticket for the Alcazar. I didn’t do the building as had done it in March but S did and I walked round the gardens which are stunning. I then sat in the Cafe overlooking part of the gardens (they are huge) and enjoyed sitting out in the winter sun. We spent a long time in the Alcazar. It wasn’t busy. It was so peaceful walking through the many areas (this is the centrepiece halfway down.
As we were in the area and it was reaching tea time, decided to go back to the Beirut cafe for more Lebanese food. Prob last sitting out to eat of the year!
Another wander to see more of the Christmas lights as it was dark now.
Walked back to our hotel taking in the evening atmosphere of Christmas in Seville.
Started getting a scratchy throat….
