Friday - home Day

Didn’t sleep very well last night.

We took it easy, packed up the rucksacks then checked out of the hotel, leaving our rucksacks to be picked up around 3:30pm . The flight is at 6 so plenty time.

We went back to a bakery in one of the many little indoor markets in Seville. This one was near the cathedral. They made everything they sold right next to the shop and you could see the bakers working away. Also marvellous coffee.

I found a place to visit in the old town that hadn’t been to before the 16th century Archivo de Indias. The Archivo de Indias in Seville is a fascinating historical site, housing a vast collection of documents detailing Spain’s colonial empire in the Americas. The architecture of the building is impressive, with its grand Renaissance style, while the exhibits offer a deep dive into Spain’s colonial history. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s an essential stop for history enthusiasts, providing valuable insights into the exploration and exploitation of the Americas. A must-visit for culture and history lovers. I didn’t read any of the historical books there what I loved the most was the design and beauty of the inside!

We then went to the place on my picture - the Plaza de Cabildo, it’s in the shape of a semi circle with a fountain and trees inside. There is an antique and craft market every Sunday so obviously missed out on this.

We walked back to Triana by the river and decided to have some lunch before we went to the airport. We had some Tapas then walked over the the Ceramics shop and factory and of course had to purchase a fridge magnet. We the. Went to another fav place of ours the coffee shop owned by the Irish chap from Limerick. We had some good chat with him before heading back to the hotel.

Decided to get a taxi to the airport as I was flagging. We were quick through security and passport control and got a good seat waiting for the boarding.

As I only have under seat baggage I wait till the last minute before boarding and got in the plane and someone was in my aisle seat. They were fine about moving (no choice really) and we left Seville dead on time.

Three hour flight back to Edinburgh. Quite a bit of turbulence on the way but all in all a good flight back.

There seems to be an update to the passport reading machines at BF. The slider only went up and down twice and then I was through the gate.

By now I felt totally crap and coughing a lot! Home around 1015pm filled the hot water bottles and collapsed in bed. I think I’ve either got a cold, Covid or RSV!
