The Long Walk
This is the corridor that connects to the doctors' rooms at Forest House Surgery.
I'd developed a cough last week, but overnight it became insistent and very uncomfortable. I hardly slept, it felt like.
So after getting ready this morning, my first call was at the pharmacy. The pharmacist listened to my list of symptoms and said he would much prefer me to see a doctor. And heaven be praised, there was an appointment this afternoon.
I'd rather have been somewhere else than at a doctor's surgery, but it paid off in the end. I have a 5 day course of amoxicillin.
Then I went home and listened to the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from King's College Cambridge. Len suggests watching on TV, but it's not the same service and there's something magical about listening to the radio on Christmas Eve.
