Exotic……

Another early walk through Pollard Park and the herbaceous border in Waterlea Gardens. I have never seen this unusual flower before. It is a mystery to me although I suspect it may be a type of Canna Lily.
It is busy at home. Hannah and Alex arrived from Marahau yesterday evening. They were just in time to meet Kerry and his wife Angela who are visting Zealand. A great reunion as I hadn’t seen Kerry for several decades. Kerry was a surrogate son to me when he was growing up. He has turned into a very nice man. They moved on to Nelson today. Hannah and Alex brought Kevin, their cat with them. He, as usual, made himself at home. Today was busy with food preparation, (Hannah), preparing the barbecue, (me) and gardening chores (Alex). We’ve had a very happy day…. Although I ate too much. I never learn!
