Olive, bay and ...something for colour
All from our garden because I didn't have time to go out looking for holly in the cemetery. All went well today: small stocking presents in the morning, and some kind of breakfast, before we got on to family calls and planning the meal timing.
Guests S, his flatmate E, and S's sister S, who are refugees from Afghanistan living in Stroud/Gloucester, were our guests, and all went well. The chicken was cooked to perfection and all the side dishes were good, too. We had Christmas pudding and/or chocolate yule log. I need not have worried about their not eating pork or drinking alcohol, because they said they weren't bothered, and tucked into the Christmas pudding.
They left around 4, and Steve and I cleared up, then snoozed, and I found half of a film I liked (From Time to Time), and eventually we both woke up properly and had some nibbles and watched more TV..
It's been a very relaxed day, with great friends and food. I am over the moon with my new heat hug wearable hot water bottle, which comes in a sort of grey furry. marsupial pouch. I'm wearing it now!
