Thermal pools
Another great day. (Apart from the food obviously!)
It’s getting busier here so after the 15 minute walk to the gondola we had 35 minutes in the queue then the 25 minute ride to reach the slopes.
The boys had a lesson which was pathetic as the couple of grown ups were still unable to stop. The instructor told the boys to ski down the green and get the button up again and again till the end of the lesson. Meanwhile daughter combined a few runs from the top of the mountain.
Daughter had trouble finding their instructor after the lesson (the boys having been skiing on their own) as it was so busy. She asked if he thought they could do Blue 1 and he said if they could manage the steep slope where the boarders went they’d be fine. So off they went and did it in a controlled way, avoiding all the fallen boarders.
After lunch Daughter took them up for their first chair lift experience which they managed and she was totally happy with how they did the descent. I filmed them coming down. We all got the gondola back to town together so that we’d be ready for our thermal pool experience.
Phil had come up to the ski area and had relaxed reading his book in the bar while the skiing was going on, but decided he needed to chill out a bit more instead of coming on the £25 thermal experience he’d signed up for. (And I’d paid for - don’t tell Mr C!)
So daughter and the boys and I got picked up on a bus which drove us to the next village. The thermal Pools were the biggest I’d ever been to. There was one giant cold pool, a big warm pool and a smaller hot pool, obviously all outdoors where it was 2 degrees. We had a great time, mostly swimming in the warm pool, though of course James had to plunge into the freezing one after the hot one. He filled his goggles with the cold water and snow and poured it on his mum’s head. What larks.
We got back after 7 so it was time for dinner. There were sausages, stew, chicken and pork but nothing at all veggie apart from salad. I asked if they had any bean soup which they gave me. I’m needing protein!!
The boys are happy and daughter even more so - pleased that after 15 years it’s all come back and she’s happy to ski on her own and escort the boys. I’m happy because even if they don’t get another opportunity till they are adults this has opened up a great experience for them.
Hopefully the visibility will be better tomorrow to allow Mr C and me a few runs too.
