Good evening
Good evening. Good evening.
A Russian cargo ship sank between Spain and Algeria. The operator said it was sabotage/terrorism. It is one of Russia’s largest cargo ships. There is another tanker that sank near Crimea after a heavy storm. I don’t know if it is related to Ukraine or not but if you have any explosions or catastrophes it seems like it is easy to blame terrorism and avoid accusations of incompetence or corruption in maintaining your equipment. Also, these accusations then make the enemy seem grander and more powerful than they actually are.
Russia’s inflation reached 9.5% this year. Their target is 4%.
A way to deal with the bad Russian economy? Have a baby! Russians in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast get one million rubles or $10,000 for every baby starting next year. Russia is having a low birth rate and of course the war has caused a massive decrease in the population. Russia has looked at opening a ministry of sex. I believe that no government has ever been able to increase the population size when people don’t want it, even when they get rid of birth control access. A regional health minister named Yevgeny Shestopalov said women should engage in procreation on work breaks.
Russia closed all four of Moscow’s airports today. They closed a fifth 100 miles away. The first four have been reopened. No reason given. An Azerbaijani Airlines passenger plane crashed the other day and there are suggestions that a Russian anti-missile system may have shot it. It was initially suggested that it was a bird strike but video footage suggests the birds used bullets. There is no evidence of a missile.
Sudan has rejected the construction of a Russian naval base. Sudan was afraid of Western sanctions. Libya then also said no.
There is a Russian LNG vessel that has been trying to find a buyer for the LNG for four months. No one wants it because no one wants to violate US sanctions. It is now unloading the fuel in a storage facility. The ship has been wandering around the world and used misleading location data to mask its movements.
