More of the same

Boring bliss. Sadly the last day.

Dinner in town was relatively expensive, service was acted, & the food very unexcitingly prepared. One dish of, apparently local, wild boar could have been anything and the food was terribly over-salted, and I like salt. Very disappointed. View was nice from the outdoor covered terrace.

Would I recommend our holiday destination?

Yes, but not staying in Bolgheri & for a longer period than 4 nights. Apartment was certainly better than OK but the lack of a balcony or terrace was unfortunate.Great for sleeping, washing & cooking, less so for eating, drinking & chilling out in the evening or greeting the day with a coffee. Basically Bolgheri was the problem. As such a twee little village but without local character - bit like going to a place with 20 McD's, Burger King's & KFCs except overpriced, artificially overinflated 'gastronomic' offer. No down to earth normal dishes. Certainly go there to drive along the cypress alley, walk the town, have an ice cream at the one stand & ten depart.Two hours will do it. I would love to go back to area again & explore as well as enjoy a day or two on lovely peaceful, natural, quit beach.
