Back home

The fog was thick throughout the journey. I confess I tried to get behind a car with bright tail lights and simply followed them. This system worked until they turned off than then it was my tail lights everyone else was following. I did not like that.
Nice to be away but very nice to be home, even though it was cold. The heating warmed the place up in a couple of hours but things like door handles, stone worktops and toilet seats retained the cold long after the house felt warm.
Tomorrows job is to sort the chickens out. On Christmas Eve we were instructed to keep all chickens under cover. We were away so a bit late doing it. Previously we had a hen tent but that is now unusable after three winters so we will house them in the greenhouse. This means moving loads of empty pots out, rehousing the pots with plants in and generally make the place safe for very inquisitive birds. Hope its not going to be long as the green house will be unusable for growing things in until the  birds can be moved out
