Thistle Bug Trap ...

Cats&dogs and deep heavily barking ... the thunder echoed between the mountain slopes and fierce rainshowers flogged the ground and all above. It seemed all accommodation, shelter, caravan or motor home, had to be tested on its sturdiness and water resistance.

It started in the middle of the night and stopped about nine in the morning. Half an hour later the sun broke through the clouds and the rest of the day clouds alternate with the sun.

All the earth seemed freshened up and we made a walk along the lower mountain paths. Along the roads bloomed among others thistle, the big variety. I saw a small yellow brown bug and mounted a macro front lens on the iPhone. The bug didn't move, which seemed obvious while it was dead. Caught in cobweb ...

I chose for this angle while the drawing on the bugs back amused me: it looks like a mask, with thick lips, hollow eyes and 'hair' in a knot surrounded by a fan of thistle spines... ;)

Weather report: partly in write-up above. Sun and clouds alternate during the day but the temperature was 18°-20° lower than yesterday.

Thank you for visiting my yesterday's journal and your comments. Very much appreciated!
