Saltholme

Breakfast in a vegan restaurant in Middlesbrough (pancakes all round) then off to RSPB Saltholme for a long walk in the stunningly bright sunshine (the previous few days’ fog having finally burnt off).

Lapwings, egrets (great and little), a spoonbill, stonechats, etc. And big industry all around. Of course this was CarbBoy’s Worst Day Ever, but pasta seems to be restoring him to good form. Meanwhile we are devouring all the cheese in the house, in advance of tomorrow’s parting of the clans as we all head southwards for New Year.

Must pack at some point.
