This morning we woke to freezing fog, which meant that we wanted to leave plenty of time to get to Grenoble airport, since it requires crossing a line of hills. We had to go via A's sister's house to pick up two bottles of Clairette - the local sparking wine - and say goodbye again. However, by then daughter L had decided not to go to Toulouse for New Year with friends, but return to Scotland. Hence we returned to Malissard to collect her, and she made her travel plans on our drive to the airport. Fortunately the freezing fog was only in the Rhône and Isère valleys, so we had a lovely run over the higher ground, arriving more than two hours early for a flight that left more than two hours late.
Having dropped off K and me, A and L then drove on to Grenoble, L having decided to take a cheaper evening flight to Edinburgh from Chambéry.
Once in Edinburgh, I drove to Penicuik with K to collect her Christmas present from me and dump stuff, then I drove K to her flat. There we ate fish suppers, and I collected my Christmas present from the family. I then drove to collect Django from the people who had looked after him, and on to the airport to collect L. She'd had a nice lunch with A in Grenoble, but then missed her stop for the airport, and only just managed to get a taxi back to it from the next station!
Back in Penicuik, I gave Django a brief walk, put on a loaf to cook for tomorrow morning, and have now retired to bed.
I'm glad that I'm going nowhere tomorrow!
