Secret Santa Saturday
Another lovely daytime bookended by a walk.
In the morning I headed out along the river - which has a very disappointing high level of rubbish in it - and through Scroggs Wood. Along the way I was fortunate enough to see two Kingfishers in close proximity to one another, a dipper and a wren. I also saw these holly berries (extra), which jumped out at me on an otherwise very grey day.
I had a quick brew with a friend and then was back up to my parents where my sister and her family would be present too for Secret Santa Saturday. It’s the first time we’ve all been together to exchange gifts, I was grateful for my Dunelm voucher and my sister’s latest crocheted creation (main) - she’s so bloody clever and I have no idea where she finds the time!
It was a lovely few hours and my mum had laid on quite a spread. M’niece and nephew were on fine form and really seemed to be enjoying their presents. Unfortunately, my Dad - who seemed to be doing better yesterday - was not having a good day and returned to his bed after a couple of hours.
We all took our leave later on, but with a rapidly expanding tummy and in need of some more fresh air, I took a stroll when I returned home. The fog/mist (extras) has this incredibly quietening effect on everything, so it was quite a nice peaceful stroll to be had as my mind turned over everything and tried to block out Monday’s brief return to work.
Another brew with a friend later and I was back home, binging myself silly on bread in melted cheese and Silo (season 2).
