Hay making

Rain was threatening so they needed to get the newly baled hay under cover before it arrived.  Its amazing what 10 children and two slightly older young men can achieve in a short space of time with my husband driving his trusty old Fergie. The children's mother was helping as well.  They all belong to the same family.  Jacob, the eldest works on our neighbour's farm so he roped in his siblings (and his mother) to get the job done.
These small bales are not so common in NZ anymore but the farmer wanted them because of the ease of handling to feed his calves next spring.
