Party 2

Back to the office. We had a different team 'All Hands' today. Some of the Polish team were in the office, and it was great to have our meetings and lunch in person. The canteen Christmas lunch seemed a bit lacklustre, but everything else in the day was great.

They were here because the evening was our Christmas party number two. Unlike last week, where the company contributed, this one was self-funded. An area had been reserved at The Hawk's Nest in Shepherd's Bush market. The product group managed to secure a small table, where we stayed for much of the evening. Drinks were ordered via an app. Quite a few seemed to appear that I hadn't ordered. I ended the evening chatting with AD and heading towards Shepherd's Bush with him.

The stragglers went to another bar, but I'd already stayed longer than I should have. It was good fun. As we left the bar, the app said a bus was my best way home, but I unsuccessfully tried to find it until I discovered that it wasn't due for 30 minutes and ended up missing the tube I should have taken instead by a minute and then having to wait ten for the next one. Lesson: the tube is faster.
