On another quiet pre-Christmas day, I decided not to head into the office. I got as much of my work done this morning to have an hour or two with a low-alcohol beer and a virtual Christmas drink with Mark. He dialled in from Tokyo, and we had a nice couple of hours before he realised he needed to get one piece of work out before the end of the day. He’d missed all the in-person Christmas events, so when we chatted last week, I thought we’d use this run-in to Christmas to catch up, and I correctly guessed that almost nobody would be in the office. I miss having him around in person.

I used the evening to complete a walk to make sure I had some exercise today, and to pick up PY’s present from the Amazon locker inside the Co-op.
