St Magnus Street Tenements

A fairly calm day, dry, mostly cloudy and cold, frost and ice in places, snow on hills.  A lovely calm cold night, -2⁰c.  Reports of heavy snow north and west.

Up early, headed into work.  A day on the toon essykert with Mickey driving and loading with Craig.  Black bag waste all day around Lerwick businesses and streets.   Nipped back to town this evening for some last minute shopping.  Walkies with Sammy, mostly feet up.

I've not been very photo inspired today, actually a lack of photos taken, just a few here.  There's a few old tenement blocks around town from the 19th century, not many though and this is one of the larger ones.  I'd love to know who stayed in this old block, was it for the poor or middle class? My granny often spoke about the old lanes being the slums in town, this being a newer building, was it for more wealthy tennents? A lovely old building, this is the less seen rear view from the wheelie bin compounds.   The south end of the tenement, taken on St Magnus Street, Lerwick.
