Spitting mad

Early moat home phone rang, my specialist lung doctor in his car driving to his practice in Memmingen.  He had seemingly got a call from the hospital and in no uncertain terms tpd me to get my a**e back there pronto. He simply wouldn't listen to a word I tried to say. Found this disturbing as we had built up a good relationship and I had even asked him a few weeks ago not to treated in Memmingen but he said it would be easier for a simple 24 hour bronchioscopy.

I trust or trusted the guy and was indebted to him for the speed he had given to my case, so I agreed to go back.

Packed a bag for 7 days and drove back with a heavy, depressed heart. Locked away in my cell for 6 days with nothing better to do than spit three times a day. At least I had a free TV and had gone to the supermarket on my way in.

PS The hospital will be paid handsomely for an isolation room for 7 nights, no doubt XX more than a simple 1 night bronchioscopy. Room had to have a sluice, staff expected to gown up every time enter room even with meal tray - they seldom did, reinforcing TB excuse was not taken seriously. Hospitals, doctors etc are independent from German national health insurance who simply pay the bills, usually on agreed event/operation type basis. Memmingen hospital is owned & run by Memmingen City Council.
