Bug on flower

What an original title, right? We were out for a walk & this purpleish- colored flower is growing wild all over in the fields. It looks like bee balm to me, but I don't know if that's what it is. The flowers were all full of these bugs, but I don't know what the bug is either! I'm apparently pretty clueless today! Ha! Odd looking thing--almost looks metalic!
