On their way ...
… are the magi, who are looking to find the Christ child and bring him their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Also on their way tonight are our daughter-in-law and two youngest granddaughters. The three of them finally managed to fly to Poland for a much-curtailed visit last Friday, and they were due to land at Stansted at 7.15 pm this evening. Unfortunately though, they are still waiting at the airport, hours after arriving, because high winds prevented their plane from landing and it was diverted to another airport, where it is waiting to fly back to the scheduled one when the winds die down.
The weather has played havoc with their whole trip; their outward lunchtime flight was diverted to another airport because of fog, which meant they didn't arrive at their destination until 11.30 pm. Our youngest granddaughter coped very well, despite being in recovery from tonsillitis, but they could certainly have done without this lengthy distruption on the journey home. Our son will be mightily relieved when he collects them from Stansted later tonight, many hours later than scheduled.
