More Aids

Happy New Year to everyone - it is quite shocking how quickly the years are passing these days.

We received these in the post recently. We want to use them to help L's Mom, who is regularly mislaying her house keys and other items, leaving herself locked in her house. It is sad and frustrating that she will use the keys to lock up in the evening, and then mislay them, with no recollection of where they are. Typically, she believes that someone else has taken them.  We try not to contradict her, but it is frustrating to be called and be told that someone else has hidden them.

Such are the challenges of dementia and it is sad to see a once intelligent lady suffer in this way.  She remains in her own home, with help from family and carers, but we do wonder how long this can continue. She has many lucid moments and she is adamant she wants to stay at home. It will prove a difficult time if her deteriorating condition, or some incident, dictates a change.
