Edinburgh Bridges #07 : Crawford Bridge
A bit of Hiatus over the last few days of our holiday down in Galloway as my camera failed. Most probably a bit of grit or sand in the lens assembly, it'll have to go off to a camera doctor to get fixed. How ever I was looking to change my camera so I went out and purchased a nice red one!
The subject of this weeks Blip is a unassuming pedestrian bridge that is fairly un-prepossessing, unless you're a Jambo that has visited Hibs Ground by means of Easter Road and Bothwell Street when it is known as The Bridge Of Doom.
There are two probable reasons for the re-naming of the bridge the first being as the pedestrian bridge is narrow than the surrounding streets the crowd has to funnel in a way that can cause a bit of crush on the bridge, the other is a less savoury reason going back to the times when both clubs had 'casual' gangs that used the bridge as locale for some of their, ahem, 'get togethers'
