Ready for the off...

If it ain't packed now, it's not going!

I had packed at the weekend and was rather pleased with myself that everything had gone in and the case closed relatively easily. That is, until I turned round and noticed a couple of things on the floor. Damn! But ok. Might make things a little tight, but ok. I moved the pile of "definitely not going" things that had been put to one side, and found some more. Damn! This is getting tricky. As I sat scratching my head about that lot, my hand touched the camera bag... Damn! That needs to go in too!!! My good feeling crashed! I'm never going to fit this all in!

Haha, to cut a long and very boring story short, after removing some non-essential or easily purchasable items I finally strained the zips shut! Thank goodness for external compression straps though, or I'd be fearing for my zips. Still wouldn't be surprised if I pull the bag off of the conveyor belt at Dubai or Melbourne and see them burst.

As an epilogue to this story, LeeAnne popped in tonight and her reaction on seeing my bag was "Is that all you're taking?" *gulp* Hahahahaha.... cheers m'dears for the travel companions. I'm sure they'll get me out of some tight misunderstandings! ;-))

So for tonight's blip I thought I'd take a wee shot of the rather derelict looking tram lines out at Edinburgh Park. How can something that hasn't even started being used look so shitty? The rails are all rusted and the sown grass is full of weeds, that is the patches of grass are full of weeds. Anyhoo, I thought I'd take this before shot because obviously by the time I get back they'll be up and running... Won't they?

Apologies for the lateness of tonight's blip (I did start at six) and the fact that I'm not going to get around everyone to comment again, but it's been like Grand Central Station here tonight. Thanks so much to everyone, friends and family, who've emailed, text, phoned and come round tonight to wish me all the best for my trip. Thanks too to everyone who commented on yesterday's blip who I haven't got back to. You guys rock!

Aussie pals, I'll be seeing you all very, very soon! Sooooo looking forward to the next month. :-))

I'm hoping to be able to blip through the entire trip but it will be dependent on my ability to get access to a wifi connection for the iPad. Not sure how much commenting I'll be able to do though. Heh, I think I had my last long lie at the weekend there. Lots of early starts coming up, so I might have to compensate with fairly early nights. We'll see how it goes!
