Hug A Tree

This silver birch I visit whenever I feel I need a tree hug. It's been a while since I have been able to walk to it and back. In the park not far from yesterday's bench.

Had to take my time walking paths, pavements and roads as -3°C overnight was slow to lift and icy underfoot & felt cold - far too cold to sit!

Put some water out for the birds but couldn't break up water already frozen and it refroze quite quickly. Another cold night tonight.

Needed some space outside to get rid of emotions from last few months and the unknown new year challenges health wise to come.

I am now knowingly living with Endometrial Cancer Stage IV, pathology tests taken from operation in November and was confirmed just before Christmas. Although it was suspected maybe to be Ovarian Cancer, the outcome is just as shattering.

Now awaiting as yet unknown treatments to keep a quality of life as long as feel able.
