A view from Jeanneb

Worth it!

I decided I would walk with my neighbour this morning but was disappointed to hear a quick shower of rain just before I set out. This didn't last but it landed on the frozen ground forming black ice!

When I got to the village, rather slowly after taking a good deal of care, I found the other two had set off without me but they did wait for me on the edge of the moor after I’d called them.

My first time up on the moor since we were putting out way marks for the Sue Ryder walk at the end of September. The sky soon lifted when we got up there and we found ourselves walking towards the sun rising above the layer of cloud that had given us that bit of early rain.

As we turned towards the descent to the hamlet of Ryecroft the sun lit up the moorland foliage giving me my blip. My neighbour D and fellow blipper corinthian column can be seen ahead on the path.

There was quite a bit of ice to negotiate up on the moor - extra collage and as we entered Ryecroft there were horses having breakfast to greet us, you can see the village beyond them.

Back in the village the roads and pavements were still very icy but we got back in one piece! We may or may not get snow over the weekend, we are under an Amber warning but one things for sure it is going to be very cold in the UK, maybe even down to -8C!

Have a good first weekend of 2025 wherever you are blippers.
