Visit to Wallington

It was a glorious winter morning. I arrived at Wallington Hall (NT) at 1020. The roads had been deserted so I was surprised to see about 60 cars already in the car park.

There were lots of families and children were enjoying running around and poking ice on the lakes with any stick they could find.

There was a lot of damage caused by Storm Arwen. My blip is a carving on a fallen tree. It was the first one made after the storm and is called Elementree by Tommy Craggs. It shows all the different sorts of weather and is made with a chain saw.

Margret’s son, Kevin, arrived today on a delayed flight from Southampton. I stayed away to give them time with each other.

Kevin also went to see the Nursing Home which will be Margret’s residence from next Wednesday.

I’m deep in plans for Namibia and have to decide on which lenses to take with me. It is too hard but compromise will be necessary. I know I would like to have the 100-400 mm lens for wildlife, but it is heavy. I’ll probably take a 70-300mm lens instead.

We are mainly there for landscapes…..

My image was taken using portrait mode on the iPhone. I have reduced the saturation because the yellow was so bright. The low winter sun was warm and bright.
