Ebbs and flows
A good memory, even if not a great photo (very much a grab shot on the phone).
A family lunchtime get-together with Nik, before he and Richard set off for a few days in Larne with R's sister Diana. Nik's really had an intense mix of experiences on this visit, his first to the UK/Europe since 2013. Today, though, was a relaxed time. Ruth came with the boys, and Jack and Marianna with the girls. Richard, Nik and I made a roast pork joint with all the trimmings, followed by cake and fruit for pudding. Simone's not in the photo, as she was napping upstairs at the time.
Now R and N have set off for BIrkenhead, hoping to get to the ferry port before the forecast snow makes conditions difficult. It's felt odd, hearing all the dire weather warnings, and just wondering how much snow we might get. Fingers crossed.
Ruth will be dropping Eben off here again later, for a sleepover. Eben and Luca have been scrapping quite a lot really, and their exhausted parents are ready for a bit of a breather. Sometimes giving both boys some time apart, and some one-to-one attention, is all that's needed to bring about a bit of a reset.
