Say What You See

Sometimes a bird's name is as easy as say what you see.

I was really pleased to see this little chap visit the feeders today.  He's a rare visitor to the garden so I was pleased to have the camera to hand to capture an image.

Other than that it was a cleaning day in the kitchen with the air fryer and oven getting a thorough polish.  I wasn't up to much more as my Achilles had flared up and was quite painful overnight and during today.

Anyway, have you guessed? It's a male Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), a member of the warbler family with a lovely fluting song which has earned him the alternate name of 'northern nightingale'.
