Rhyl
SATURDAY
The weather forecast for today wasn’t promising, and with many Parkruns listed as "cancelled," I had braced myself for a leisurely morning.
To my surprise, when I woke up at 7:30, it was a surprisingly mild 4ºC, so after checking the website, I headed over to Holywell for the Greenfield Valley Parkrun.
I had a bit more energy than on New Year's Day and managed to finish in 27th place with a time of 28:36. The 28-minute pacer overtook me during the tough 2.5 km uphill stretch, and despite my best efforts, I just couldn’t keep pace. Still, I am pleased with the result.
Later in the afternoon, over in Rhyl, I took a stroll along the beach and promenade. The town was surprisingly busy with families on the promenade and on the beach. The tide was in, and in the distance, see the snow-capped peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) were visible.
