Sunny Sail
After days of dull overcast mingy weather Thursday glittered like a thousand tiaras, with sun and blue water. Kon Tiki was out for a shakedown around Whitehaven Bay, prior to the race on Saturday so I joined up as crew. A good enough breeze to fill the sails, a bit of warmth in the air and time to try and remember all the knots, winches and ropes. Every skipper has a slightly different method for doing things, so, with general forgetfulness, plenty of opportunity to get things wrong!
With clear views of the Lake fells to East, Scotland to North and The Isle of Man to South, I wouldn't have been surprised at a glimpse of America to the West.
